Introducing Seek First Resources

Jan 21, 2025

I’m finally ready to share with you a dream God gave me over two years ago… one that has really been 30 years in the making… You see, I first began reading the Bible, praying and journaling daily when I was 12 years old, right after I made the decision to follow Jesus as my Lord and Savior.

The daily habit of Bible reading, praying and journaling has morphed and changed for me over the years and decades, but it still remains the greatest catalyst for knowing God’s will and discerning His voice in my life.

Over the years, I have been in full-time ministry, pastored and taught God’s Word, and authored books and devotionals to help people know Jesus and fall in love with the Bible. I have seen countless lives (including mine!) transformed by cultivating the daily rhythms of reading and meditating on scripture, praying, and journaling. I’ve also seen people struggle to know God, become stuck in their growth, fail to understand their purpose, and walk away from Jesus because they simply didn’t have a foundation of faith built on the daily habits of Bible reading and prayer.

Two years ago, I began to feel a holy discomfort about how many followers of Jesus were not growing, overcoming and becoming all that God had called them to be because they simply did not know the scriptures or the leading of the Holy Spirit in their lives. I began to ask myself: what did it matter how many sermons I preached and how many platforms I spoke on if people were not seeking the Lord on their own time— beyond Sundays, special events and conferences?

That holy discomfort kept growing and morphed into a dream that I shared with my husband, Ben. What if Christians really read their Bibles, prayed and journaled every day? How would that change what they knew of Jesus, and how they lived every day, how they loved others and how they trusted God for the impossible in their lives?  What would our world look like if followers of Jesus were seeking the Kingdom of God first every single day?

After a whole lot of praying, planning and late nights and early mornings, Ben and I are thrilled to announce the launch of Seek First Resources. Seek First Resources is here to help Christians spend more time with God, dive deeper into reading the Bible, and discover the beauty and benefits of daily journaling.

Seek First Resources offers free devotionals, scripture reading and prayer, and resources to help you, your friends, and family grow in your consistency and get the most out of your time reading scripture, praying and journaling. We’ve also just released the 3-month Seek First Journal to help you stay consistent in your daily Bible reading and prayer time, keep track of how the Lord is speaking to you, and also better organize your sermon and/or Bible study notes.
