What’s Been Inspiring Me Lately

Aug 21, 2025

In my last blog, I explored the deep need we all have to continually pursue wisdom. I shared a number of practical ways you can actively do this in daily life, and I’d encourage you to check out the list here if you haven’t already. Number 4 on the list was ‘Make curiosity consistent.” One of the greatest ways we can continue to grow and mature is through exposing ourselves to new knowledge and skills through books, podcasts, classes, videos, online courses and educational experiences. Whether it’s a painting class, Bible study, podcast on leadership, book on nutritional medicine, or a documentary on World War II, exposure to these fuels an appetite for learning and keeps our minds open to new perspectives, methods, and principles to increase our knowledge and understanding.

And it’s fun! Diving deeper into your interests is refreshing to the soul!

Below is a list of things that have been schooling me lately, and inspiring me greatly. I’ve also added some recommendations that have helped me prioritize my health or just bring me joy.  Perhaps, these recommendations will be of interest to you, or they will spark a curiosity for you to explore other motivating resources that resonate with you.

I hope you enjoy these as much as I have!

Performance coach Steve Magness outlines how to move from high-stress survival mode to fulfillment-oriented thriving mode for sustained success. For high achievers, this book will flip the script on how you view and pursue success, and de-bunk common misconceptions about what it takes to win consistently while learning from failures. The research and case-studies throughout the book are fascinating and have changed my perspective on my own pursuits, as well as how I encourage and bring out the best in those around me.

The Seek First Journal

Of course, The Seek First Journal makes this list! I designed this journal to be so much more than just your average journal– it’s a resource to help you cultivate the life-changing daily habits of Bible reading, prayer and note-taking! It comes with 3 months worth of daily reflections for you to record what Scriptures you are reading, what the Lord is speaking to you through your time in the Word, reflective prayers, gratitude lists and daily goals. It also comes with a section dedicated to sermon notes for when you are at church or attending a small group. Plus, there’s a section of blank pages for miscellaneous notes, making the Seek First Journal your one-stop journal to meet all your note-taking needs. It comes in 4 stunning colors to choose from.

If you want to commit to reading the Bible and praying daily, or if you are looking to get more out of your time each day seeking the Lord, then this journal is for you!

Elephants Can’t Fly by Charlotte Christie

This children’s book is one of my favorites to read with my 3-year old daughter. The illustrations are gorgeous and the message is one of determination and faith. This book speaks to my daughter’s potential in fun and creative ways, and every time we sit down to read it, I’ll be honest, it speaks to me, too!

15 Minute Healthy Roasted Chicken and Veggies Recipe

This recipe is one of my go-tos for dinner! It’s healthy, tasty and so easy to make! And the best part? It only takes about 5 minutes to prep and 15 minutes to bake! I’m cooking for a family with some picker eaters, and this meal is one of the few that makes everyone happy!

Lerine 20 Pack Reusable Freezer Bags

In an effort to get rid of unnecessary toxins in my house, I have been swapping traditional plastics for safer, eco-friendly alternatives. I’ll admit when I ordered these on Amazon to replace our ziploc bags, I was dreading having to wash them. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it has been to clean and reuse them. Plus, I have the comfort of knowing I’m storing food (along with my use of glassware) in ways that are PVC-free, lead-free, chloride-free, and BPA-free.

Travel Electric Kettle Portable Mini Kettle

After I drink some water, I love my coffee in the mornings. It’s part of my morning ritual, and now with this mini kettle, my routine doesn’t need to skip a beat when I’m traveling! It’s easy to pack and doesn’t require batteries– perfect for my carry-on. I add my coffee filter and bag of toxin-free Bulletproof ground coffee, and I am all set to hit the road!

LMNT Electrolytes

Most electrolytes are packed with sugar, but LMNT is different! LMNT is formulated to help anyone with their electrolyte needs and is perfectly suited to folks following a keto, low-carb, or paleo diet. It’s packed with lots of salt and no sugar or dodgy ingredients. Plus, their variety of flavors are delicious! I love the Watermelon and Chocolate Salt flavors. My husband is a big fan of the Lemonade and Orange Salt flavors. I drink one a day to hit my hydration goals, usually after my fitness training.
